4 ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
• Inspiring and motivating students to code
• Introduction to Open Source:
• Workshop
• Session
• Talks
5 BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM:
· According to the education system in our country, it focuses primarily on textbook-studies and getting a job.
· The fact that kids run behind marks and not skills, make them unaware of their latent talent.
· lack of exposure to technology is proving to be a hindrance in their road to excellence
· The students were not able grasp things when told in English, so we did our entire session in Malayalam
6 . IMAGES:
THE CONQUEST:
· Positive responses that we’ve got from the students of the BNV Higher Secondary School and the students of the TKM Engineering College
· Positive response that we got from the young ladies of the computer science branch
· They were able to express their problems.
OBSTACLES FACED:
· We were not able to find a school which was ready to conduct the camp.
· We were unable to get a projector and had to arrange one. The school had poor infrastructure. We couldn’t find proper hall to conduct the workshop.
· we were not able to conduct the hands on workshop for the students on basic basic Linux commands because of the unavailability of computer lab.
TOTAL MAN HOURS FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT:
· 24 hours
ROAD AHEAD:
· To give more talks to the kids on having confidence in oneself and to not be afraid of about venturing into new things
ROSES AND THORNS:
· We got to understand the difficulties and concerns of the students directly from them and we were able provide solution to most of it.
· We understood the difficulties of a teacher handling a class of roughly around 40 students. The students were absolutely new to the technical world and did not have much experience with coding
· We are glad that we inspired them and helped them to get out of their comfort zone in order to achieve great things.
