11. ROSES AND THORNS :
It was a mix of
amazement and excitement when I first saw my mail which said I am going to
Himachal Pradesh. It was so far away from home and my parents were as expected
tensed. But I love to travel and decided I will go no matter what and I don’t
regret my decision.
The village was
like any other village with lot of greenery, small houses and lot of small
innocent children huddling around you. But what makes you fall for them is the
way they treat you…starting from the oldest people to the smallest children.
The children there are not exposed to technology much, hence they still enjoy
their childhood the way the it needs to be –innocent, carefree and active.
Children in the city may have access to lot of technology …but they are not
really living their childhood to the fullest. The children in the village are
also really hardworking and respect their elders really well. The elders were
also very kind and cooperative. One
thing that disappointed me was the lack of opportunity for the youth in the
village. There are some youngsters who are really brilliant who can’t follow
their dreams due to lack of knowledge of opportunities or lack of money. It’s
the educated youth of India who should guide them and show the way for the
ignorant. As Amma says, every student should visit villagers of India and help
the villagers in India. India can get so much of potential from the villagers.
I am really glad to have gone for the
internship.
Thank you
